Trump is a Demagogue

He is a “leader" who has obtained his power by means of impassioned appeals to the emotions and prejudices of a certain segment of the population; the segment which refuses to see the truth of the crisis that our country is hurtling toward, as fast as we can.

Dangerous and crazy times have plagued us since the inauguration of Donald Trump.  I cannot, for the life of me, call this mentally unstable man baby, president.  He does not qualify for any title of such significance.  Trump is a continuous disgrace to this great nation.  Make America Great Again, is a slogan that isn’t befitting of any actions taken by this tumultuous and  inept administration.

Trump has pulled back on so many important regulations.  He says that he does not believe in climate change.  I think that this is just another lie, intended to divert our attention from the fact that he is heading up a purposeful destruction of the United States of America, if not the entire world.  Putin and other white supremacists are in accord with this.  They think that outer space will save them, after they have carried out their plans for world wide white supremacy.  It won’t.  They won’t get that far.  I believe that Humanity Rules!   Hence, the silly idea of starting a special space program is so off base, that it is another stupid idea from this self proclaimed dictator.  The Air Force already has a division dedicated to the space program.

What the heck is going on?  They are demonic!  Trump, Bannon, Stephen Miller and many others, in and of this administration, are hell bent on destroying the administrative state.  Bannon even stated that, “We won’t get this country back without a fight.”

The Kavanaugh confirmation hearings has a woman, Zina Bosh, sitting directly behind Kavanaugh, flashing signs of white supremacy (no matter how the Trump(ians) try to spin it).  This has been the second day in the Kavanaugh hearings and it has been the second day for the white supremacy flashings from Zina Bosh.  Why does no one object to this?  What are the Democrats and responsible Republicans thinking of?  Our elected officials have let us down.  We are in a perilous state.

Bob Woodward’s book, Fire, has just been the tip of the iceberg.  A high official in the Trump administration, has just published an op-ed, in the New York Times, under an anonymous name.  He, or she, has said that Trump is amoral.  Fire and Fury, by Michael Wolff, states the same anomalous behavior.

Somethings are really wrong.

Flint: An American Tragedy

The water situation in Flint, Michigan, could have been avoided.

Michael Moore's "10 Things They Won't Tell You About The Flint Water Tragedy. But I Will",  tells us what's happening in Flint.  He chronicles the problems from the onset until now.  I won't even try to paraphrase his facts, but I will endorse his conclusions.

The facts are that Governor Rick Snyder nullified free elections in Flint, deposed the mayor and city council, and appointed his man to run the city.  Money saving thoughts dictated decisions, rather than the quality of people's lives.   Greed rears its ugly head again, so it was decided by this Governor Snyder appointee, to unhook Flint, Michigan's water from Lake Huron and switch the hook up to the Flint River.

All concerned parties knew that the Flint River was toxic, and that it had been toxic for years, yet they still went ahead with this directive.  General Motors, complained that the Flint River was corroding their car parts.  They were given a special hook up to Lake Huron water.  All the while, the children of Flint were still drinking the poisoned water from the Flint River.  Despicable actions, which led to this catastrophic outcome.  To think that all of this could have been avoided is reprehensible.

All this could have been prevented?   Michael Moore says it would have cost one hundred dollars a day for three months, nine thousand dollars.  Human lives are priceless.  I'm aghast.

There has been a return of an intense outbreak of Legionnaires Disease which has occurred since the water has become contaminated.  Other toxins have been found.  What other toxins will be found?  I am afraid for the citizens of Flint.

I'm hurt that these poor people, who have what I have, and that is nothing but their homes, and now this one asset is worth nothing.  To have worked an entire life time to come to the realization that your one asset is worthless, must be heartbreaking.   To realize that you and your family are in jeopardy of dying, has to be the most hopeless and empty of feelings.  To realize that you live on toxic land is frightening, beyond belief.  It sounds like the Twilight Zone.

It is unthinkable to believe that during all of this, the Flint citizens have also had to endure military exercises that did involve bombings, in the derelict neighborhoods.  The audacity of our military leaders.

Lake Huron is the third largest body of fresh water in the world.  Formed over ten thousand years ago, it is still fed by pure underground springs.  Flint citizens, geographically, should not be drinking poisoned water.

They come for my brother today, they will surely come for me tomorrow; or something like that.

Michigan State owes these people money for purposes of immediate relocation.  The citizens of Flint have to leave.  Their land is toxic.  No one is doing anything really effective, so they have to leave.  Other compensation monies can be determined at a later date, although I don't know what value can be placed on a future of possible dysfunctional children and adults, with all types of illnesses.  Enough damage has been done.

Governor Snyder should be arrested!

The richest country in the world and this happens.  I'm saddened.  We seem to be more worried about Brussels, Belgium, than Flint, Michigan.  What the heck?

Desperate People

Why is it that when people run out of friends, and they are old, they begin to latch on to people who they think are weak?  Why didn't they think ahead?  What made them not know?  Lifetimes of relationships build security in old age.

Some people have not been true to their children, friends, or to themselves.  What could they have been thinking when they were doing everything that they wanted to do?

What were they thinking when I was getting up each morning to go to work, while they slumbered in their beds.  They  made fun of me.  Wonder if they remember?

You dated other people's husbands and wives.  You thought this was okay?  You raised,  or didn't raise your children to be what they could not help but be.  They have to think that this is  a cold world.  Are you surprised?

I'm not.  You reaped and you have sown.  Leave me alone!

Successful People

A successful person is one who gets up daily, bathes and dresses.  If breakfast is eaten, all the better.  Midday and evening repasts, as well as the prayer you need, are tandem to your dreams.

If these things are considered and sometimes, most times executed, you are successful.  If by chance, you manage to add doing something for someone or for some thing, then you are worthy of respect; and you are, most assuredly, a winner.

Rumpelstiltskin

Never forget the story of the little man who spun gold for the promise of things to come.  After having being duped by her father, the miller's pretty young daughter, in turn, duped the strange little man whom she charmed into trusting her.  As you may recall, the young maiden was supposed to have had the artistry to spin straw into gold.  Of course, this couldn't be done. Yet, after the little man heard the crying of the young, pretty maiden, he offered to spin the straw into gold for her, in exchange for things of no real importance.  Alas, the magical little man demanded a price that was too high.  The former damsel in distress was to be married to the king if she could complete the last straw spinning task,  which would also assure the king of being married to the richest person in his kingdom.  The pretty young maiden readily agreed to give her firstborn to this funny little man.  It was the price he asked for helping her this last time.  Okay, done!  It seemed to be a win-win situation.

The avaricious king traded gold for a rich marriage; one of convenience.  The maiden was willing to trade her first born child for the spun gold.  The little man traded his spun gold for a misplaced trust in the superficiality of the pretty young maiden. He spun the straw into gold because she had given him her word that she would, indeed, forfeit her first born child to him.  Annie Lennox told us that "everybody's looking for something".

The little man found himself in quite the predicament when the queen's loyal servant discovered the little man's secret; his most prized and highly guarded possession-his most unusual name.  Rumpelstiltskin stomped himself into the floor, cutting his right leg off at the knee; then seizing his left foot with both his hands, he furiouly split himself in two, "and there was an end of him."

Poor Rumpelstiltskin.  Poor us.  Were the Brothers Grimm on to something?  Have we trusted too much and spoken too soon?  Did we celebrate the election of a kinder, more decent administration prematurely?  Are we doomed for self-destruction?  I think we are, if we, as a democracy, regardless the party, don't act to stop the taking of the gold without the deliverance of past promises.  Promises that will prove beneficial to the republic that just completed the voting process, electing who we thought was best for our glorious country.  We need a more equitable society and we need it now.

"let them eat cake"

Republicans have a "let them eat cake" attitude.  I believe they lost because of this viewpoint.  They should watch the latest Marie Antoinette movie.  Perhaps it would refresh their memories regarding their antiquated ideas about today's society.  History really does not have to repeat itself.  We are intelligent beings who should learn from history's mistakes, not repeat them.

Chris Matthews reminded me of a quote from The Great Gatsby: "And as I sat there brooding on the old, unknown world, I thought of Gatsby's wonder when he first picked out the green light at the end of Daisy's dock.  He had come a long way to this blue lawn, and his dream must have seemed so close that he could hardly fail to grasp it.  He did not know that it was already behind him, somewhere back in that vast obscurity beyond the city, where the dark fields of the republic rolled on under the night.   Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us.  It eluded us then, but that's no matter-to-morrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther....And one fine morning--So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past."

This says it all about today's Republican Party.  They are quickly becoming obsolete, but they have the gold, so they rule.  Their rules and ideologies will live on, I'm afraid, because they still maintain power. Power  over the lives of the people whether we have spoken or not.  The pie is large enough for all, but too many wealthy men don't want to share even slivers of the  pie.  They continue to divert the attention of the uninformed to nonsensical issues, hoping the masses will look at the nonsensical instead of at what all of us should be doing to correct the inequities in the system, as they exist today.

America is in dire need of tax reform and other imminent things like attention to the needs of the sacred earth we all live on.  I hope that we all are very clear on what's really important and move forward towards these solutions.
